Another Happy Friday!

Hi, all. Just a quick note to wish everyone a good weekend….and those of you in the States, an early Happy Thanksgiving! We are off on a camping trip to enjoy the last of our autumn weather.
For those of you who have book orders with me for Partners….I still have not received my shipment of books. Hopefully, they’ll be here waiting when we return and I’ll get them shipped out immediately to you.
Have a good one…
Hi Gerri!
Poor Anneroo, she’s going to be traumatised no Partners since she’s commented on it every day! Oh and Gerri remember when you ship ME FIRST ME FIRST! Norma said so!
Hope you have a great and safe camping trip and a lot of fun. As you know I’ll be flying over in a few weeks although I won’t get the autumn weather, but someone mentioned hot springs this morning!
Norma! Emms and I do not need anyone keeping an eye on us and anyway Peg will no doubt be joining in!
Shyfox, any snow in Wales? I saw on the news Yorkshire got hit! We haven’t got any, but it’s dark, murky and cold.
Gerri, thanks for the update. I will withhold putting out an APB on my shipment for a couple more weeks. Happy Thanksgiving and have a great camping trip. I promise to try to refrain from rooting against your Cowboys.
Wendy, I should have known Peg would be in the mix. Hopefully you will have good weather for your ride.
May everyone’s workday be a short one today!
Norma the bouncer is here and ready for action
wendy you know as good as i do that yall need looking out for lol
Emmz did you hear that i’m in charge hahahaha you have to listen lol
Norma, Ooohh hold on a wee minute, Is this because I tend to throw parties in my bedroom at weekends??
BabyRaye, JUST DON’T EVEN GO THERE!!!
yeah yeah yeah
Wah? I know, I read it, too, Emms. What’s this about Raye watchin’ us?
norma said that me and shyfox are suppost to watch over emmz and wendy
Norma, I’m a good baby. Why would I need to catch up on sleep?
You did post later than usual; it was past 1AM where I am.
BR, sure you can handle it? I remember when you volunteered yourself to be locked up after a particularly interesting morning with Emms. Emms, remember, she said “ok, you can lock me up, then.”
i can handle it JT just asked i used to all the time she got my old job lol
Well in that case Ladies, I’ll be throwing an extra wild party tomorrow night!!
Norma, Wanna come?
JT, Yeah I remember
I don’t think Norma’s coming. She’s always tellin’ me I’m bad.
dang on i want to come but i have to work
hey emmz have a drink for me lol i think i’ve found my notch coconut rum and pinapple juice
BR, sounds suspiciously similar to a pina colada.
its not though i’m sure
OK, after reading the post… I am going to reveal my age and geekness when I quote Spock from Star Trek when he did the mind meld w/ the Horta and say “THE PAIN, OH THE PAIN!!!! THERE’S SO MUCH PAIN! PLEASE STOP THE PAIN”. Gerri, that is just pure TORTURE!!!! You need to have a word w/ Bella Books! At least I won’t scare our poor postman John running out to him when I see him drive up! He’s been laughing at me!
OK, I will just have to distract myself w/ OTHER things! Like picking up leaves, reading Katherine Forrest, watching football, digging out and untangling the Christmas lights that i will put up on thxgiving day… sigh… none of that sounds as fun as reading Partners!
Enjoy your trip Gerri, I can’t even imagine camping - it is not supposed to get above the 30’s here and is supposed to rain/sleet/snow next week (hopefully done before I put up lights!). Then again, Gerri and Diane have that posh camper! Enjoy your getaway and be ready to expedite that shipment if the books are waiting on your return!
OK, i have a CRAPload to catch up on for work while getting info for SP’s surgery! I’m a little worried since the power has gone out 2x already! Hope they are able to get things stable and get her in today!
Have a great day everyone and if I’m not back ENJOY ur WEEKEND!
It is scary how I seem to know all of Anneroo’s references. The other day you had me HEARING Cogsworth in my head. Shame on you, Anneroo!
Just reading about your upcoming plans has me tired. Spending Thxgiving tackling the monster of XMas lights, hmm. Per Spock: “On my planet ‘to rest’ is to rest, to cease using energy. To me it is quite illogical to run up and down on green grass using energy instead of saving it.”
Anneroo, good luck with SP’s surgery.
JT, that is a GREAT quote! I don’t remember that episode… but I am w/ spock! Resting for me is sleeping in, vegging w/ a book or in front of the TV!!!! Normally I’d so some of those tasks after work, but it is pretty much dark here by 5 pm, so I would have to be out there w/ my headlamp on! As a result, the tasks all get relegated to the weekend when I should be doing as Spock does! And JT, were you even ALIVE w/ ST was on?! I’m proud of you having that knowledge (and quotes at that!)
Oh, and JT, i would MUCH rather put up xmas lights than cook thxgiving dinner.. and if I finish the lights early, and so much as look in the kitchen while SP is cooking I get yelled at and told to go put my Legos together in another room (have I said I am a Lego fiend?)
I think I was 4 when ST:TNG started. I remember sitting there watching “Encounter at Farpoint.” Somehow I caught the premiere and would beg to stay up to watch it. It was probably 9/10 when it ended. I should have been in bed, heh. BTW, that quote was from TOS’s “Shore Leave.”
I used to build imaginary towns with my legos. I had the square-bodied lego ppl inhabiting the houses and car-like objects I built. I did the turkey the past 2 thanksgivings, so I guess I would rather that than the lights. Maybe it’s cause I like food too much.
When I was a kid i did the make your own stuff w/ legos…used “rolley polley” bugs (aka potato bugs aka pillbeetles) as the “pet” because they could walk around
and we never had people so built them w/ the squares and singles… not realistic, but neither were pillbugs for dogs!
Now all the legos i have now are “kits”… or sets… however you want to call them.. SP gets me “big” ones for big prezzies… At one point I had the Eiffel Tower alongside the DeathStar and Batman’s batmobile (wanna borrow it BR?).. I have yet to build the Imperial Destroyer… maybe that is what I will do on thxgiving if I am quick w/ the lights. Tho I see the Taj Mahal was just released… I don’t think i have been THAT good this year to warrant that xmas gift!
I have bought my mum ALL the TNG dvd’s… she loved it… I remember being a kid and she went to a ST convention… had her Capt. Kirk button on and was SOOO giddy… My dad dropped her off and took us kids someplace… I just remember the look on my mum’s face… got to meet Uhura, Chekov and Kirk… She was in her glory!
Oh, and JT, you do NOT want me to cook Thxgiving… I get to peel cut the butternut squash… that’s about it… otherwise I am banned… I’d rather eat than slave over it all!
Surely there must be something you can make that is edible? My sister banned herself from cooking (I think she just wants everyone to cook for her) because she “blew up an egg” in an attempt to fry/scramble it.
I like the raw bricks and didn’t ask for any kits when I was little. Always wanted just the bricks. The square ppl I had were so not realistic, either, so don’t feel bad.
So, your dad dropped your mom off at a Trek Con? What was he thinking? What if she would have been beamed up?
Out of the three, I probably would have been most intrigued by Nichelle Nichols. When I was little, I remember thinking “what’s that thing in her ear?” Of course, I caught TOS in reruns. You are correct in saying I was not around when it first aired.
Oh, and I think we called them “doodle-bugs.”
see how far we have come??! We may not be flying thru space, but we have bluetooth/tiny hands free! HAHAHAH isn’t that what Uhura had? And as for getting beamed up, she probably would have preferred that to coming back to three bratty children likely amped up on sugar!!
Actually, I am a decent cook if i have a recipe… My problem is getting stuff done at the same time! I am notorious for having the sides done as an appetizer or dessert depending on if I have timed it early or late. And I am 40 and have never cooked a big bird… In fact, i have never cooked a “full” bird of any size - give me thighs or breasts and I’m good! (ooh that sounds funny! HAHAHA).
SP FINALLY got called in for her pre op… JEESH! They’ll call me in once she is “set” so i can be w/ her before they put her out
As for the “old days” I don’t think they really HAD kits for Legos… just the sets… Now that I am tlaking about them, I am going ot have to go to Legoland when I go home at xmas - OH MAN AMAZING STUFF!
OK! SP is FINALLY down for the duration! The power outage resulted in a two hour delay!
Kirk’s tricorder –> StarTAC phone. Uhura –> hands free (I could say something that would have Norma shaking her finger at me, but I won’t). If only they could get those darn transporters on line, we’d be all set.
Good to know you’ll be with the SP when they knock her out. We’ll be waiting for the good news.
Well, SP’s surgery is done! All went well… She’s in recovery and hopefully i can see her in an hour!
Hooray!
Good evening/afternoon ladies
Anneroo, hope your SP is well and have a fast recovery.
Gerri thank you for the post and have a great camping trip and Happy Thanksgiving to you too. In PR we celebrate Thanksgiving Day as one of the most important holidays of the year. As a matter of fact, we celebrate all US holidays plus a few of our own(what a bunch).
Norma, I finished Roommates. I agree with you relating to the angst it caused me. Just started Honor Reclaimed, I really like the Honor series. By the way, check the Bella Forum Friday’s Potluck, it is kind of funny. Did you notice that Dutton has a new book?
Hey GGGs are you all AWOL?
Hello, SS, Buenas Dias!
Hi JT. How are you? Are you behaving?
I am well. SS, who do all of you ask me that? When do I misbehave?
JT. Whenever you get together with the babies.
Hey all!
OK, SP is home, has had some chicken soup and a vicodin, and is off to la la land!
All went well and she is actually able to put some weight on the knee! Amazing surgery these days! She still seems to think she’ll be able to help w/ leaves this weekend. I’ll ask her again when the pain meds have worn off!
SS, smart PR’s you are!!! One of these days I will get down there. I hear it is beautiful! Is there good scuba diving there, do you know?
Well, I have to play work catch up and finish making my “honey do” list for the weekend!
So, GGG’s what exciting things do you have planned for this weekend? Gerri will be camping, I will be honey do-ing… who else?!) Oh Peg will be rockin’ chair-ing if she isn’t rubbin’ and Emmz will be caring for her… that is unless she and BR get locked up! Who all is going to this Emmz boozy fest?! Wendy are going to hunt for some non white shoes to go w/ you black slacks? and WHERE THE HECK IS BUTCH and WING and all those others?! Are you stopping cold turkey since word of the closing of the blog?!
SS, I thought the babies and I were just doing our assigned task for this blog.
Anneroo, so happy she’s already home and in la-la land. Even if she feels up to it sans meds, might wanna lay low. I don’t want to tell the sad tale of a grandparent who had hip surgery. Let’s just say she felt up to it way too soon. I’m sure with you there, though, your SP will be just fine.
SS, PR and New Orleans must have some things in common. Most people are usually off 3 days for Mardi Gras, some people are off also for All Saints Day and there’s probably some stuff in between that I’ve forgotten.
I’m working Saturday, per the usual. This Sunday is the Po’ Boy festival. I think it’s the 2nd annual or something. If I go, I’ll try to take some pics. Ordered a guitar off ebay that I had been crossing my fingers about. It finally came today! So, I’ll be off messing around with that.
Have a great weekend everyone!
OOH JT! Both the Po Boy Fest and guitar playing sound fun! WHo/what do you like to play or do you make up your own stuff? And can I just say I LOVE SHRIMP PO BOYS!! (I know, you can’t eat shrimp… so I will eat yours
) Where is the Po Boy fest?
Many companies up here take off Patriots Day, but that is pretty much the only “extra” holiday we get… MLK day, (we are getting day after New Years instead of Pres. day this year) and then the standard Nat’l holidays.
Hello, Anneroo. Didn’t go to the Fest last year ’cause I didn’t know about it, but I don’t know for a fact that I’ll be going this year. We’ll see how it turns out. It’s on Oak St. http://blog.nola.com/judywalker/2008/11/poboy_festival_expands_to_meet.html is a link that can tell you better than I. You can eat all my shrimp! I tried to eat something shrimp yesterday (wasn’t allergic as a child) but that was a bad idea (not serious like going to the hospital, but a little itchy).
I was worried about this guitar but so far seems ok. Probably will have someone look at it anyway. I’m pretty lousy as a player, especially now that I haven’t played in about 6 months.
WAAAAAA I want my book….I am gonna cry…Lin just finished In the Name of the Father and we talked about it earlier…so now it is going to be a fight of who gets to the mailbox first…darn it…but I am a fast racer 9and almost unemployeed so I can wait by the mailbox)…
Oh, forgot to tell you what I play. Been messin’ around with a little pop and country lately. Made up some stuff, but not often.
Shannon, join the whiner/winer book club - I’m president! I almost forgot to get the mail tonight when I got home! Why bother when I know that Gerri’s going to make us wait LONGER!!!! HMPH! You’d think the author would get special privileges from the publisher! Oh well, I am sure she is off decompressing while camping (so long as the boots or bearings or whatever they are on the camper aren’t acting funny!)
OOOH JT! YOu are a reckless woman eating shrimpies when ur allergic! I will gladly eat your shrimp! (I have Bubba’s list from Forrest Gump going thru my mind now!) I had Thai food for the last two days - red curry w/ shrimp! YUM YUM! Tho I missed the tail on one of the suckers… Can any of you cooks tell me WHY they leave the damn tails on there?! They peel the rest! it kinda grossed me out chomping down on that shell! OH and JT now that you have me talking food… have you been to Liuzza’s? GREAT cold beer (Abita) and the famous Frenchuletta sandwich! I don’t eat “red” meat and HAD to have a bite of my friends… VERY YUMMY and no shrimpies! Uhm, and the Redfish Grill- A little expensive, but AWESOME food! And then there is Jacquimo’s - get their specials, they are the best!
Alright, now I am hungry and its too late to eat! I am just going to have to dream of NOLA food! YOu always ask why people tell you to behave… THIS is why you are bad, JT - for getting me hungry!
Pop and country, huh? Is that like Dixie Chicks stuff? WOuld that be pop country? I just turned Mandy on to Sara Evans, and gonna see if she like Sugarland and Martina McBride!
Anneroo-woo-woo, I’m innocent! You asked question, I gave answer. How can I help it if you start FANTASIZING about eating shrimpies and then aren’t able to curtail that train of thought? They leave the tails on because it’s “prettier”- simple as that. If more of the shell is left on, then it’s for flavor, just the end segment, then for looks.
I don’t know that I’ve been to places you mentioned but I’ve heard of them definitely.
So, Anneroo, don’t blame me for you being HUNGRY. I can’t help if people get that way after talking to me.
I tend to play whatever it is I like from the radio or something I hear online or whatever. Tends toward the commercial stuff just cause of where I hear it.
I like the Dixie Chicks’ music but Natalie’s voice can get a bit much for me. I like the other acts you mentioned, but lately haven’t listened to much country radio lately. Oh, like Carrie Underwood and I’ll play Taylor Swift for my sisters, if they ask. That’s probably close to the entire list of current major female acts in country.
The one song that comes to mind as something I heard recently is “Good Directions.” You also saw my little link to a Garth vid the other night- thought the pumpkin eating was appropriate.
Commercial music is really male dominated.
Non-country, like Colbie Caillat, Deathcab for Cutie, and some others. Oh, I don’t know if you’ve heard of Missy Higgins, her song “Where I stood” isn’t bad- sorta piano-rockish, but the rest of her album is more guitar driven. She’s from Down Under. I might play some JT (Justin Timberlake), One Republic, etc. As you can see, it’s a mess.
hmm, innocence(not), fantasizing, leaving tails on, and hunger/food… GERRI! I think JT’s outlined a new book! and since JT said it first, can I get a WOO WOO!?!?!?
YOu haven’t been to any of those places? oh that’s right, that’s cuz ur a north shore-er, right? You gotta try Liuzza’s - http://www.liuzzas.com. I’m ALL about food when I go to NOLA…
Norma, where are you tonight? OH yeah, your left coast… your probably gettin off work? If Norma hasn’t been to NOLA, I think she would probably have a heart attack if she experienced all the amazing food there.. (cuz if I remember Senorita Norma, you are all about the food too!).
OOOH I LOVE LOVE LOVE Missy Higgins! I have both of her albums. That is funny about Where I stood… I just told Peg to listen to that song the other night! I have played that song to DEATH! Wendy and I were talking about Sarah Bettens and K’s Choice the other day. Do you like her stuff? I love the song I’m OK. Wendy’s more the expert on her tho.
As for country, I’m not a huge fan- was really just introduced this last year by my NOLA GFs. I haven’t really gotten into the guy stuff and for the women, I like the more rocky country (same for the guys i have heard). I was just turned on to Terri Clark who I find a bit twangy, but I like what I’ve heard. I tend to do the greatest hits stuff unless I am really turned on or they are easily accessible/cheap.
As for non country, I too am all over the map. I like Deathcab for Cutie… Do you like Modest Mouse? I have so much music it is hard to keep straight but I have something from all the artists you have mentioned… (just ask Wendy or Mandy!)
Anneroo, actually, I’m a WestBanker. Oddly enough, I’ll go all the way to Metairie or Kenner and seems like I’ve skipped over the “city.” Looked it up and think I got something from Liuzza’s years ago. Haven’t skipped over the city completely, though, I’ve been to brunch at the Court of 2 Sisters, had jazz brunch at Kabby’s (which I understand has ceased operations but they did a jazz brunch for over 20 years on top of the Hilton by the Riverwalk), been to Commander’s a few times (less consistent post-K, imho), and learned I didn’t like couscous (sweet kind) at Restaurant August. I think it’s probably cause we end up grabbing sushi that I ended up not hitting these places.
it works, it works!!! don’t know for how long but it works!!! i left you a voice mail on your phone about 7pm our time. hope you got it. you and vicki have a good weekend and i will send pictures of caroline this week.
baby raye, went to the library and got your email. i cannot believe that we went to the same church too. can you believe that norma? we have alot in common. i will email you later baby raye.
well its late and we are both tired. i will try to get on over the weekend.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL YOU GGG LADIES. ONE THING I AM MOST THANKFUL FOR IS THE GIFT OF ALL YOUR FRIENDSHIP HERE ON THE BLOG. HAVE A GREAT NIGHT YA’LL.
DIANNE AND PAT
THE FIRST PARAGRAPH IS FOR NORMA.
AH yes, sorry… left banker… so sorry. too many bodies of water down there!
Hello, Dianne. Figured that it was for Norma. Must be something in the water where you were and Raye is.
Hi Dianne, Bye Dianne!
have a good sleep and a happy l-tryptophan (I mean turkey) day!
True, but the say the water helps regulate the temperature so that we don’t get as drastic shifts.
Unfortunately, you get the hurricanes too! That’s what I miss about SOCA.. Temperate w/out being outrageous… Natural disasters at a minimum (yes, there is the chance of earthquakes, but the last one was when… the Northridge one back in the early 90s?).. your worst disaster potential are the fires! (which unfortunately are typically due to idiots… i mean people). No wonder land is so darn expensive!
OK… I am off to finish up a few things and get some ZZZ’s! Got a LONG honey- do list for the weekend, including keeping SP tied down to recover! Good night! Bon nuit! Gute nacht! Buenas noches! ok, that’s all i got… G’nite!
Yes, they say no place is paradise. I’m still looking. You may have noticed from earlier comments that I don’t find the climate of NOLA to be all that much to my liking. Given my limited experience with really cold weather, I don’t know how I’d do, but when it gets really cold down here, i.e. 30F, I’m usually pretty happy about it.
lol, tied down to recover. Good idea.
JT has at least 2 sisters?!! I don’t think we knew that.
Hey GGG’s! Just a short note to say happy Saturday before I head off to work. This Saturday work stuff is getting old fast.
I actually went to sleep by 9 last night so I had no computer time.
Annneroo, I don’t do seafood so what would I eat in NOLA?
JT, how about Brandi Carlile? She plays a lot of guitar. I love her albums. Here is her most popular song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq-ZmAYLeB8
Shannon, I figure we’ll get our books in a couple of weeks so I guess we will just have to suffer. It would have been a good read over the holidays.
Dianne, glad you got the pc working. You guys have a great weekend and I’ll catch up to you later.
Emms, what time does the party start? Who all is going? So far I have Wendy, Peg, and JT. Anybody else?
SS, I forgot to tell you to have a good time tonight and that I was excited to see that Erin Dutton has another book out. I still have about 10 unread books so I don’t know when I’ll get a chance to buy and read another one. I may break down and buy it anyway.
Good Morning/Afternoon GGGs
Anneroo & JT I love shrimps in all the forms & sizes. Once I start eating them, can’t stop, so, avoid shrimps as much as possible because of the calories.
Anneroo, I love swimming but I do not know anything about diving, however, I know there are great scuba diving and surfing spots in the west part of the Island. I also know about areas in the very close US Virgin Islands that have great diving. I will look for detailed information and send it to you.
JT you are right about perfect weather, there is non. I live in the Tropics & people say “How Wonderful”. I will love to live in a place where you can see the change in the foliage, snow and spring. I can’t complain about this beautiful Island, however, you get tired of this humidity and hot weather all year long.
Talking about Holidays, I think PR has about 16 of them, can you match that. Most of those holidays are for schools and government employees and the rest of us work, but still… It’s probably our Spanish roots always looking for an excuse to party, dance and get drunk. NOT ME, as you know, i’m pretty SHY.
Shannon glad to see you back. Hope everything is good with Linda and Ky.
Dianne, you are back. You never said if you liked Coyote Sky? SP let you finish it?
Norma, I also have a lot of books to read, but I can’t stand when the pile start going down. Since I was a kid a read a lot and if I do not have a new book, I reread my favorite ones. That is probably why I have read Dawn of Change & Hunter’s Way so many times. I think that if Gerri gives me a test about those two, I get a 100%.
Ana, Butch, Cheri, HP, Shyfox, Mo & Paula, Baby Raye, Emm, Peg(how’s the rocking chair), Mandy and all GGGs, HI
Ok GGG’s, I am going to a baseball game now and going out tonite.
Hasta luego
JT, you are right about you babies misbehaving. But you know, as an oldie, I have to play the serious role and reprimend you guys once in a Blue Moon. (Don’t tell anyone)
Wendy, are you AWOL too?
Good afternoon ladies!
Wendy, little did we know that while you were giving me my pep talk yesterday about being an aunt my sister was in labour!
Little baby Cleo was born yesterday at 6lb 13oz and apparently looks just like ME!!! Poor little thing, lol.
JT, I guess it was probably that long chat about it all that gave my sister hic-ups and sent her into labour
Wendy, sorry, but we’re gonna have to take a rain check on the christmas markets, I’ll be heading down to meet my new niece this weekend.
Hope you all are just as good as myself, take care y’all!
Ooops, sorry, I didn’t yesterday did I? She was born on the 20th… see, already useless!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! to all those of you the other side of the Atlantic.
Anneroo, hope SP recovers well, JT is right, even if she’s feeling up to it don’t let her over do it.
Have to say, I also love lego, but am a lego technic fiend and loved to build the kit as it was supposed to go then tamper with it to sup it up a bit.
Hi, GGGs!
Norma, am I your little unravelling mystery? I’ll try to slip in a new detail or two for you every now and then. Seems like you’re enjoying this, so I won’t spoil the fun by giving away too much.
Shyfox, missed you. So, you’re now an aunt, huh? Congrats! I’m sure you’ll be wonderful. (Don’t worry, if something goes wrong, kids always blame the moms, anyway- JUST KIDDING!) So, tell me, how are you?
Oh, Norma, checked out the link you posted. Hadn’t heard of her before. Found her vocal attack “interesting,” but liked the song, particularly the acoustic version.
Hiya girls
Norma, I haven’t set a time, but if you all arrive before I get back, make yourselves at home, you know where the drinks cabinet!!
Is…
lol, watcha got in that cabinet?
Oh, Norma, Anneroo, and anyone who’s reading or read the Ali Vali Casey saga, is it uber?
Everything ya want JT!!
How’s it going today, Emms? Where’s your co-hort, BR?
Hello Babies!
Shyfox, SUPERCONGRATULATIONS!!
You are going to love being AuntiMandy.
JT, she has 2 albums out and they are both really good. Check her out at Amazon or on her web site to hear portions of all her songs. Yes, the Casey saga is uber.
Emms, are you going out to replenish the cabinet?
Betterf get back to work or - will never get done. Behave in the maentime until SS gets back from her date to supervise.
Me always good
Norma, I always keep it well stocked up!!
JT, I think she’s working today!!
Hi Gerri! OMG I have looked everywhere for you to leave you a message or something. I know that you have no idea who I am but I am in love with your books. I was a little skeptical at first because most lesbian fiction writers are all about the romance part and not the real life scenarios that go with it. But every single book of yours that I have read is DIFFERENT…and real and I love them all!! The only one I haven’t read so far is Partners but I pre-ordered it yesterday. I own all the others. My favorite though has to be Coyote Sky! Lee is a Libra and Kate is an Aquarius right? Well I won’t take up anymore of your time but I will ask that when you write your next one will you let me know the date it will come out? I love your work and think you are amazing.
Bethany Dawn
Hi everyone!
Shyfox congrats on being an Aunt. That’s great news you have a little niece. Hope you enjoy meeting her this weekend, that certainly takes precidence over the xmas markets. If however you can get up here let me know, especially if it’s a week day and I’m in work I can arrange a 25% discount if you park somewhere I know!
SS not AWOL, unlike what Anneroo asked (and for your info white trainers are fashionable here and I have a pic to send you to prove it) I was actually at a conference all day. Was really good and one of my high school teachers was there so plenty of catch up going on.
Anneroo hope you’re taking good care of SP.
Good afternoon/evening fellow gutterites!
Today was a day of freezing arses off! Thank God mine is huge! Slept in this morn, but then was out to walk the dog (normally sp does but she’s recovering), it si SOOO freaking cold with the wind@ It was unbearable! I have to dig out my thermal undies! The walk only lasted about 30 mins but my legs were beet red! Then it was on to making breaky for sp and me (i went all out and made oatmeal!) and off to get gas for the lawn vac. Came home rebundled up like wazzizname in Christmas story, then went out to round up the leaves. Man it was cold! I got most of the front done and then my neighbor came out w/ one of those fan blowers. He did his yard and came over and helped me! In what would have taken me about 8 hrs he did in about 30 mins. Now all i have to do is pickup (mulch) the leaves he wrangled to one side of the yard!
Now I am off to get the ingredients for my bow tie pasta (which if we ever get it going is going to be my contribution to the gutter cookbook since it can be veggie or not (eggplant vs. chicken!). THen it is on to opening a bottle of wine to sooth my tired bod (not to mention I over did it at the gym the other day!).
Thanks for the well wishes for SP. She’s actually hobbling around, but I think she and vic (odin) are now good friends. SHe being good tho, only takin’ 1/2 a pill at a time (I tried stealing the other half, but she caught me ;0(
Shy, congrats on your new niece! And remember, kids are brutally honest, but are also the most forgiving! Just love her and all will be right!
Norma, hope you didn’t have to work ALL day! JT, Emmz, Wendy, and SS, have a great time at your Irish Partay! I hear those Northern Irish can do that pretty well!
OK, off to eat, drink and get warm! The honey do list is still long so I gotta enjoy tonight!
JT, yes the Casey saga was pretty cool. I like strong smart women and that’s who comes up in the Devil trilogy.
Oh and Wendy, nothing wrong w white trainers, JUST NOT W/ BLACK PANTS!
Trainers are shoes, right?
Hey JT, you know how those brits try to confuse us! Yes, trainers are tennis shoes.. jumpers are sweaters (which some of us will be in for the coming months) and pants are NOT slacks
Off to be domestic!
Good afternoon GGG’s
SHYFOX!!! What’s up?? Must be something in the water, all these new little girls being born!!! FANTASTIC…CONGRATS!!
NORMA, can I just say something? If Emma shows up in the morning saying she has a hangover….DO NOT let her tell you I had ANYTHING to do with it. I told her she could have ONE drink in my honor…..ONE!!!! And that’s all I’m going to say!! Also, be careful….the next thing you know she’ll be fitting YOU for your very own ‘ROCKER”
WENDY, OH WENDY, Please…don’t worry about shaving like all my other woman do!!
Don’t get me wrong, I like smooth and all, but a little brickle never bothers me either.
ANNEROO…WOW!!! And THAT’S ALL I will say!!!!
To everyone else….have a great day!
ANNEROOOOOO…..Domestic???
Geeesh! Anneroo, white trainers go with everything. And they are NOT TENNIS SHOES! Trainers are what you call sneakers. And MINE are very trendy ones. Oh and the black pants are NOT PANTS, they’re Jeans!
Awwwwwwwwww thanks Peg, so if I forget to use that razor any of those days you’ll forgive me.
RP, I know, I was thinking the same thing when I read “domestic.”
WWWendy, tennis shoes sorta the same thing as sneakers for some ppl here in the States.
NO NO! Here Tennis shoes are different from what I wear. YOu wouldn’t play tennis in mine.
Oh and we don’t say PANTS either, we say Trousers or Jeans
Ahhh WENDY no worries!!!
If you don’t shave we will just have to take a different route.
Yea JT…this domestic stuff just doesn’t fly with me. However, if she is doing the domestic thing, hmmmm a massage might be in order…huh ANNER??
So, over there “pants” is over used as a verb? Doesn’t matter, I kinda like how the word “trousers” sounds when you Brits say it.
Hmm, massage. Just what can a massage fix, RP?
opps, second “over” should be “only”
Ha! Peg, glad I could wow you!
Wendy, we say tennis shoes like we say Coke… it means any kind of sneaker, running, X trainer, tennis, bball, etc. And Coke is the same as cola… pepsi, coke, and whoever else makes that cola drink!
And pants… when I was in the UK, i was told my pants were worn UNDER my trousers/slacks! So beware if someone wants to borrow you pants!
And yes, I am being domestic.. gotta since SP is recovering… and my bowtie pasta smells AMAZING if I do say so myself! Catch ya later!
Anner we say knickers! pants might refer to underpants, which MEN wear.
Also we use coke all the time.
JT I agree trousers sounds so much better.
As for the massage I’m sure it could fix many things and I’ll report back my findings in due course!
Haha, WWWendy, I meant that I like when the Brits say “trousers” with that little accent
; I’m not sure how I feel about the word itself. For instance, saying you “went to prison for murder” sounds completely different when it’s with a lovely English accent. Trying hearing it with a Brooklyn accent and you’ll know what I mean. Or maybe it was just Kate Winslet. Ok, I dunno. nvm.
Coke also = cocaine. I hope you don’t use it all the time, WWWendy.
LOL! Ah the accent! What accent? Only Yanks have accents!
Hmmm so Brits can get away with murder with you JT if they have the cute accent? That’s good to know!
LOL! Yeah I know the other meaning. I use it in bars and restaurants and usually get the reponse, we only have Pepsi is that ok?
I didn’t say they could get away with murder, but I think I would listen longer to them telling me about it
There’s an AMEX advert that aired here a while back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1zJk0Mx-n4
BTW, why is school pronounced like “skool” but schedule isn’t?
Probably because of the vowels making it be pronounced differently. Like in French the vowel position makes the words sounds different.
Hi Ladies!
I am EXHAUSTED! Between honey-do and SP, I”m about to pass out! Looks like we are getting “foreign language” classes… Where’s Mandy!? We need our German word for the day!
OK all, I am sleeping NOW so I can hopefully get thru all of my errands and still keep SP in a chair! (Thanks Vic-odin for helping w/ that today!).
Gnite ladies and given its Sat. night, don’t be good!!
Anneroo, you have be very well informed about the Northern Irish, I’m impressed!!
Hi Girls!
Yes…just a brief appearance as I am FINALLY in my own bed tonight!! Been traveling for the past three weeks for work and I am FLAT OUT EXHAUSTED!!
Since we have NO idea as to when this blog will end and my schedule is so pathetic, I wanted to take a moment to send out some messages to those who have MORE than touched my life over the past 7 months and whom I have personally been involved with in this life altering arena….
JT, LOTUSPEED, SHYFOX, MANDY….It’s a damn shame you weren’t involved in the early months!! This “family” of women (which I’m sure you can agree with in the past couple of months) are among some of the best people I have EVER interacted with on a daily basis. I certainly hope you take your ENERGY to the “new” blog and keep it as much fun as you seemed to be able to do these past couple of months!! Sorry I didn’t get to know you all a little better….
BABY RAYE & BABEMM…Well it certainly has been fun watching the “cat” fight from afar between you two but I’m just WAITING for the day that you two KISS and make up!! YUMMY!!
DIANNE…You take care of Pat and enjoy life just as you are!!! Keep dancing and making life fun…afterall, isn’t that what it’s all about?! Will be in touch….
ALLY…It has been so great getting to know you both on and off the blog! I hope to see you on the “new” blog and we can continue to “chat!” Afterall…if it wasn’t for you, I would have NO idea what a “marrow” is!!
WWWENDY…SOOO F’ing cool about your trip in December!! I’m sure you will be shown a good time!! BUT..JUST FOR THE RECORD! We do NOT like to be called YANKS (at least here in the Northeast, RIGHT ANNEROO!), we are Americans! Yanks in New Yawk are also known as SKANKS among us MET fans! (SS…I’m Sure you agree with that!!) Next time you have a layover in NY…You BETTER call me!! Remember..just 12 miles from JFK!!
HP…Good luck with your surgery as well as your health. We will ALL have you in our thoughts and prayers in December…and thanks for picking up the slack over the past couple of months. You gave us all more than you know….
SS…Will most DEFINITELY be in touch with you now and especially during BASEBALL season!! It was an absolute pleasure getting to know you…. So nice to know you’ve met a HOT woman to date (HEY NOW!!)
I KNOW we will stay in touch…
MO (& PAULA)…I will not lose touch with you as you have touched me more than you know. So….this is NOT the end by a long shot! MO, you are such an inspirational person and you should know that….
SHANNON…SO glad you saw through the BS of the “haters” comments and you stayed with us. Hope Lin and Ky are doing well and we will meet again on the “other” blog!
ANNEROO…Although I haven’t interacted that much with you ON the blog, it has been very nice getting to know you off the blog. I so look forward to the “new” blog!! Long live ROCK AND ROLL!!
CHERI…Going back to that chick you met years ago on the RED HARLEY…well that just may have been me! My bike is now maroon but hey…you never know! You take care of that girl of yours and I’m sure we’ll “see” each other again…
ADRI…you haven’t been around much but I just wanted to say it has been a pleasure. I will never forget your comments to my guest blog and would be HAPPY to provide a “hat” for you to wear (GIANTS or METS)!!
JJ & KAREN (WKS)…Owners of the blog and people I MISS seeing so much. Both of you know you will hear from me so this is FAR from goodbye!! Hope you are both doing well….
NORMA…You and I have had so many interesting conversations off the blog. There is NO way I want that to end! Nice to be on the same wavelength about things! Now you take care of Vic and we’ll talk often I’m sure!
ANA…Not even gonna try to say anything to you here. Just know that you are so special to me and have made a lifelong impression on my life. Eu te amo!
WING and PEG…Not even going to try. You both know how much you mean to me and there is nothing more to be said. I love you both…..
And last but not LEAST…
GERRI…I know I have said this over and over but it just needs to be said again.
THANK YOU! The friendships I have made on this blog cannot even be described except with the words that they (and this blog) have made a lifelong impression on ME and the life I live. You have no idea, the impact you have had…..
OK GIRLS….BUTCH is signing off.
Good morning GIRLS…
WOW…this is a SAD FEELING!
Now I am writing and crying, BUTCH when I started to read your comment I realized that this would be your farewell here on the blog, and you know, I cried the whole time, it is a strange feeling as if saying goodbye forever to someone very dear, for my luck I will continue to have you as a friend, and that as you mentioned before GERRI will never be able to figure the impact this blog brought to the life for some of us, so THANK YOU GERRI for everything, and especially to you Butch (as I said before, my luck to have you as a friend Kathy), THANKS CAN’T NEVER EVER describe what I FEEL SO…eu também AMO-TE e MUITO!

P.S. I LOVE ALL OF YOU GUYS!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Butch, very eloquntly written and what great sentiments. Right back atcha!
We went out this morning and bought our Christmas tree. There is a local Christmas tree farm that opens the third Saturday in November , where you can choose and buy your tree and they will not cut it down until you go pick it up at a later date. We don’t pick it up until 2 weeks before Christmas so that it won’t be dried out and the fire hazard will be less. We are going to put the Christmas lights up today so that we can light up the house for the niece’s and nephew when they come over on Thursday.
I’m feeling groggy and I don’t know if it is because I am getting sick or if it is because I got 10 full hours of sleep last night. In either case I am going to take something and try to sleep some more. Maybe I can get out of helping with the light? Not likeley.
Have a good Sunday GGG’s!
Hello GGGs.

The shed is still empty although Vicki is home today so maybe she will paint the inside of it so that we can start using it. Put on that tool belt of your on and come on over and help. I will of course do all the supervising. I’m an expert at that!
Happy Monday GGG’s!
Hi GGGs.
WOW. It feels lonely here today.

ok off to make a pot of tea before it starts
just stopping in for a quick hello
Ok,
Since I am so random, and obviously not paying close enough attention - this blog is closing?
hi Canadian Julie yep its closing but light at end of tunnel Shannon and Anneroo are trying to get a something to gether for us go to go to at least thats what i understand is happening
hey baby raye
Hello, everyone- just poppin’ in to say hi!
Hey all!
What’s all this sniffle fare the well?
Jeesh! So long as Shannon and I don’t fall prey to the blogmistress syndrome,we’ve set up a new blog. We didn’t want to announce until Gerri was ready to close this one, but it will be gerrisguttergals.wordpress.com. Maybe, if shannon and I are good at topics gerri will just point her blog link to us and keep it easy to find.
That said, my absence has been due to a crazy overload of work, but honestly this is where I tend to thrive ( else I procrastinate). Not to mention caring for SP who appears to have come down with bronchitis. Maybe now that she is on antibiotics she’ll forget the vicodin and we can “share” that
Since I had to take offwork to take so to the hospital, I still need to make up a couple hours of work.
I’m going to hold off on my farewell MSG until I know we are closer to the “switch” in the event some of y’all forget the new blog link and/or Gerri doesn’t link to it. Oh and be forewarned, one or two of y’all might get recruited for blog entries.
And finally, Ally- you’re early- thxgiving is this Thursday. And honey, you are a contributor to my renewed desire to dive, so ill definitely check with u before i head to PR! Maybe SS will set us up with the twins marge and rita! After diving of course!
Oh and as most of u know u have to submit a comment to the blog with ur posting email to not be in moderation so if you wanna get in when we “flip the switch” go submit a comment and I’ll make u official! The link is in my previous post.
Why, hello, Anneroo! Really sorry to hear the SP has bronchitis. Got that myself once, though I got it cause I decided to play in the freezing cold rain and I’m sure that’s probably not how she got it.
Hey JT, The nurse from the surgery said it is probably due to her having the remnants of a cold when she had surgery… I guess the gas they use for anesthesia can result in breathing probs and worst case, a blod clot in the lung… THey’ve taken xrays to rule that out, but I think it is just the bronchitis.
I’d rather get it via playing in freezing rain! Where did you get freezing rain in NOLA!? I do remember my friend sending me pix of snow one time down there… didn’t stick, but was probably a hoot!
Anneroo, I think I got it in a back yard somewhere a dozen years ago. I’m glad it’s not a clot.
Hey Anneroo, sorry SP is sick. I hate bronchitis, I use to have 1 or 2 every year, but thanks to my friend Vitamin C I have avoided it for 3 yrs. So hope she gets well soon and will see you at the new blog when Gerri closes this one and leaves us orphans.
Hi JT & Ally.
Hello, SS. Come now, orphans we’ll not be. You used to get bronchitis up to a couple times a year? I only had it once and I was so miserable. Happy to hear it’s left you alone since the ascorbic acid.
JT. We will be orphaned by Gerri.
I use to have a lot of those head colds, caused basically by sinusitis, and I did not take good care of myself and eventually develop into bad colds and bronchitis. Almost, every Christmas and sometimes in summers too.
Aww, SS. I’m glad you take better care of yourself now. I’m surprised you got all of that on PR?
I’m sure Gerri still loves us.
Hey Ladies!
SS, I’m hoping we can convince Gerri to just point her current blog to the one we create (we may need to prove ourselves first, so we can’t give the keys to the babies!!!! HAHAHAHA). And who knows, maybe if we give her authoring rights, she’ll surprise us one day she is not too busy!
Man, I have never had bronchitis (knock on wood), but I do not want it! I am big when it comes to vits/herbal supplements. I take C, B complex, and garlic on top of my regular multi and calcium, and I do a shot of noni juice. I guess it is good since I am not super about taking care of myself otherwise.
Come up here, JT, you can dance in the freezing rain/snow expected if you wanna get the chills! Ewww! But then I will build a fire and get some coffee or cocoa w/ kahlua to recover!
What’s this about not giving the keys to babies? Hmph. You forget the other babies jingle with all the keys they already hold- you know, keys to the gutter, to the cell we lock people up in. . . One more key- you won’t even notice it’s gone- nvm, better not give too much away.
Anneroo, you’re inviting me to come dance in the FREEZING rain? Are we livin’ la vida loca, here? That fire sounds lovely, but are you offering booze to babies?
Ah JT, you said “freezing cold rain”… I figured you might want to see what freezing rain REALLY is! (we use Yak Trax or studded boots to keep from falling in it tho!) No vida loca… La vida fria is more like it! And it never hurts to give babies a little nip if they might get sick or whiney or hyper or… oh wait, hmmm (thank goodness ur all of age or the social service workers would be all over me!).
And the keys won’t work once we move to the new gutter/jail!! I’m wondering if even WWWendy should have access to them! WHile Shannon is looking for a new paycheck, I’m going to let HER be in charge! I figure she’s raising a kid, she’s got one up on me!
“She’ll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain…”
Oops. Sorry, got a little carried away there. Anneroo, it really was freezing cold RAIN, any colder and we would have had snow, which you know we pretty much never have. It actually snowed on XMAs 2004, though.
So, no vida loca, huh? Is it currently vida fria where you are? It was supposed to do all kinds of raining today but the storm clouds must have called in sick.
So, you think just cause the current keys won’t work, that we won’t find a way in the new gutter?
Ah, you are probably right… Juvenile delinquents, the lot of you! Yes, it was the 2004 snow my friend sent pix of… bizarre!
Last weekend was bitter fria (around 12 degrees w/ the windchill), but today it was only fria - this week we’re to stay in the 40s for the most part.
What song is that from? Or what movie? Since ur the queen of quotes, I figure I won’t waste time trying to figure it out!
Oh! And Ally, George Takei was Sulu on the original Star Trek. I actually met him once! and YUP he just got married in CA a couple of months ago!
Delinquents?
*sniffle* Oh, the pain! You hurt me, Anneroo, you hurt me.
Ok, so 12 with chill is cold. 40s is pretty good. Nice jacket weather.
Song: Livin’ La Vida Loca (Ricky Martin- song’s about a girl who makes the singer do crazy things. I have no idea how that goes.)
So, woo-woo, did you get through the “CRAP-load” yet or am I playing the part of an excuse to procrastinate?
Still workin the crapload…
Will have to do it tomorrow or Wed! I don’t know why, but i really like the song Human! I think it is my loves of the Smith’s of years gone by
ok, duh, i should have figured the reference… whap!
Yes, the 12 was REALLY cold when walking the dog. Needless to say, her walk was only 30 mins both Sat. and Sun!
Also rippin a few cd’s I got! Was gonna buy the killers new one today, but SP felt too sick for me to make a pitstop at the music store on the way home from the doc
OK, not delinquents… so long as you damage nothing and don’t get arrested, I guess you’re just having baby fun! Have at it! I’m sure SS will record it all for posterity when ur older and have kids/nephews/nieces and talk about the “good old days”
i look forward to you letter ss. i love getting emails.
pat worked our behinneys off durning clogging tonight. i can not ever remember being this tired . i bet, we burned one million calories tonight. we are clogging to micheal jackson “i’m bad” and it is a killer. its a very long, long song and we are pooped.
hey norma. i will send the picture of caroline this week.
well 4 am comes mighty early for pat so we are off to the shower and to bed for both of us.
talk to you ladies tomorrow. ladies only 1 month awsy til christmas.
dianne and pat
p.s. the time says 9:31 but it is 10:31 here.
good night and sweet dreams.
You’ve been workin’ on the crapload all the livelong day… Must be a really big load.
Hmm, I’ll have to look up that song. The only Killers song I know much of is “When We Were Young” and that only because of Rock Band.
Poor SP, the knee and now the lungs, right? Is she all tucked in bed or does she try to run around and do stuff? Maybe you need to tie her down. . .
Anneroo, all your talk of posterity and such- are you trying to age the babies prematurely? Someone has to keep the irreverent comments going in the Gutter, and we babies have taken on this hefty responsibility.
Human is the new killers single from the album released this week. It has a retro sound. http://www6.islandrecords.com/site/av.php?bcpid=1315753316&bclid=1295326835&bctid=1868992242
And honestly, I did work a LOT today (typical work distractions) but tonight I’ve been a BIT distracted playing in the new blog, looking at German music Mandy has been telling me about, and workin’… Plus keeping you up on a school night!
SP has been pretty out of it today. Cancelled all work mtgs, and took the day to chill, eat vicodin, send me running errands, and getting doctored. Don’t think she needs tying down and she is tucked in bed w/ the dog snoring next to her!
YOu babies will live long and prosper, I am sure of it!
And since it is nearly 11 my time, I’m going to go finish this work and catch a few ZZZs myself! have a great night!
Ok, Anneroo, night night. Feeling really bad about your poor SP right now. I really hope she gets well soon. Will check out that link you posted.
Dup dor a’az Mubster.
haha! too darn funny JT! I didn’t know you spoke Vulcan!!! Works done for the night… off I go to displace the dog!
GOOD MORNING LADIES
BUTCH, EMAIL ME AGAIN. I THROUGH I HAD YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN MY PC BUT I LOST IT.
JT. I THROUGH THAT FIRST SENTENCE WAS FOR ME. I DID NOT KNOW YOU WERE TALKING TO ANNEROO.THAT WAS FUNNY!!!GO BACK AND READ WHAT I WROTE ABOUT CLOGGING RIGHT BEFORE THAT AND THEN WHAT YOU WROTE. STILL LAUGHING
WEL OFF TO GO TAKE A SHOWER.
BUTCH DONT FORGET!!
LATER, DIANNE
Good morning everyone!
Phew, once again, a lot to catch up on before I can post.
Anneroo, sorry to hear SP is having a tough time of it, and no doubt getting frustrated as! Hope it clears up soon. And that pasta you were talking about… eggplant?! That’s avocado right? In hot pasta? Or was it a pasta salad? And if you’re after a german word, here is one of my favourites “arsch mit ohren!” it means arse with ears and is kinda a childish curse, a bit like when we brits say “aahhhh PANTS!” when things go wrong… is better than saying “oohhh FFFFFFFFFFFF*&$!”
So, being as I’ve raised this subject again… Wendy? Are they K-Swiss? lmao, I’m afraid I have to agree with everyone else, white trainers and black jeans… NO! And for our american friends, trainers are just any kind of shoe you can play sport in, end of. But please, never try to cycle in astro-shoes when your bike has toe straps… very embarrassing episode at a roundabout, but it was ok, my hockey stick broke my fall! And as for the christmas markets, I’m afraid I don’t think we’ll make it up this year now, things are picking up at the hotel with christmas parties and such now so it’s split days off and few of them with SP off with me together until after christmas, but, once again, thanks for the invite.
Norma, AuntiMandy? Was that a guess at my real name? Or are you just fishing? You know… if you wanna know, just ask?
Ally, I’m about as far from Porthmadog as I could be and still be in Wales… but not as far as Newport (yuck), just what kind of professional services were you after?
JT my sweet, I’m just dandy thanks, and I’m glad to see you’re still having plenty of fun but also behaving.
Little baby cleo is just heavenly, my family were right, she does look like me (!lol), just the opposite as far as height is concerned, she’s so long! which is great as it means she’s a new and improved me who is gonna be a kick ass rower!
Well, till next time, take care everyone!
mornin’ all. Just a quickie… Gotta take SP back to the hospital. Damn doc waited until today to say the bloodwork indicated possible blood clots - so much for “STAT” written on the orders!
JT in case you really like the killers, the new album is on Amazon today for $3.99! Great deal and glad I didn’t end up buying at the record store last night for $9!
THank you other Brits who say white trainers and black slacks/jean/trousers just don’t go together! WWWendy, go w/ blue jeans… EVERYTHING goes w/ bluejeans!
Shy, glad you enjoyed meeting baby Cleo!
And Dianne if you clogged a crapload, more power to you sister!
Have a great day! And JT, now that I have to spend who knows how long at the hospital, there will be a BIGGER crapload today for work!!!
Oh, and Shy, and eggplant is not avacado (which I love). It is what I think you call aubergine? If not wikipedia it… I’m sure there are pix. The recipe originally had eggplant, but I find unless you cook it right, it can be either bitter (seeds) or too mushy. And if you have read any of my previous posts, I am no chef when it comes to the kitchen! So! i use chicken instead. But to me, the sundried tomatoes and red pepper flakes are what give it the yum taste!
Struth! OK anneroo, eggplant in australia is avocado, lol, glad we cleared that one up! As for cooking aubergine, especially if it’s in something like some form of ratatouille, like I suspect it is for your pasta, you’re right, overcook it and it goes all mushy and loses all it’s flavour, so, what you wanna do is add just a spoon full of sugar (teaspoon),demerara sugar is best, that way you don’t have to over cook it but it loses it’s bitterness.
hey GGG’s
Anneroo thankyou yes thats the guy
sorry to hear about your SP youve got a hectic time table at the moment havent you glad you still find the time to yak to us all ha ha
re the diving yes would love 1 day to do a dive together hot or cold water lol

Anneroo just read your last post , ill be thinking about you you all take care now
Good morning/afternoon GGG’s!
Shyfox, you told us what your name was weeks ago and I’m very good with names!
Ally, I’m not sure what Vicki’s done with the she because it was dark last night when I got home and she was out there with a light working on it. I did’t go take a look so I will check it out tonight.
Dianne, do you go clogging every Monday night?
JT, did your Saints ever put a whollop on my Packers? I gotta tell you, I love Drew Brees. Can he throw or what?
Anneroo, good wishes go out to your SP as she recovers.
Sara, I finished Kenna White’s ‘Beautiful Journey’ last night. It was a very lovely story. You will like it.
Have a good Tuesday GGG’s!
Good mornin’ everybody!
Dianne, I had to laugh reading what you wrote. If you did clog a crapload, I’m wondering how the shoes would look/smell. And imagine if you wore Dutch clogs. Now, that would really have been a mess.
Foxy, how are you this morning? I know it’s not morning where you are. Missed you. Glad you liked meeting the new addition. So the hotel’s really getting into the holiday groove, huh? Now, I’m finding it a common theme on this blog that ppl think I misbehave. Where does that come from? Me, I’m innocent.
Anneroo, those darn doctors. I’ll be thinking bout you and the SP. Hope all goes well and you won’t have to be in the nasty hospital too long. Oh, and that recipe of yours, with sundried tomatoes (yummy) and pepper flakes? Is there something you’re hiding from us? Ciao Italia?
Ally, are you saying it’s 2F? Like you exhale and your breath not only makes a cloud, but the cloud freezes and lands with a big thump on the ground?
Hello, Norma. Sorry your team got their booties whooped. What can I say? Yes, Drew does well with that arm of his.
BTW, I did go to the PoBoy fest on Sun. Took some pics, but I’m not in any of them.
hey ladies hows it going
Anneroo i’m hurt how can you know trust this baby face lol hahaha i dont want the keys anyways i want have to set a good example anymore lol
ha ha JT ive just gone to a conversion and i beleive -2c = 28f no big thump well not yet any way but bl**dy cold
Morning, BR. Will have to disappear from a little while. Hope your day is going well so far. I know, we babies are an innocent bunch. I hope no idea why they make those comments about misbehaving and being bad.
Ally, sorry it’s getting too cold for you. That’s cold for me, too, since it’s officially below freezing. Maybe you can think of some way to keep warm?
you’re right JT we’re all so innocent ana thought us well lol
hey ally long time
hey Baby Raye sorry busy at work the nerve of some people ha ha
JT mmmmmmm now let me think how to keep warm errr ???????
Haha, that’s right, BR, exactly.
Ally, I knew you’d come up with something.

Hiya, Anneroo, any good news?
Hi GGGs
A quick appearance from me before I head to bed. I haven’t as yet made any comments about the blog closing, but I do want to say something now.
When Gerri originally set this blog up, I’m sure she didn’t expect things to turn out the way they did. She encouraged me to pop along at the beginning and I soon felt at home with all you wonderful women. Gerri knows that the blog is much more than a blog now, that it has a family feel too it because of the friendships that have formed. No other blog that I have seen, certainly not a blog that is owned by such a wonderful author as Gerri, allows people to have as much freedom and fun as she has allowed and we all owe her a tremendous amount of thanks for the happiness she has brought into our lives by setting up this blog.
I know that after HP’s announcement you are all upset and worried about the blog ending. This is my view though, since the announcement Gerri, who’s time is as you know precious, has made two posts and kept the blog flowing. Gerri also has NOT made any announcement that the blog is closing. Maybe she will maybe she won’t, but until Gerri makes any comment about it, I for one, will not talk about the blog closing. Also, I know you want to have somewhere else to chat if the blog was to close, but can we please refrain from talking about a new blog on here until we know what Gerri plans to do. This is Gerri’s blog and I know you all think a lot about Gerri, but I find it a little disrespectful to her to be talking about moving on to a new blog. This is my opinion only and my thoughts on this. It is also not an attack on any of you and if the blog was to close then I think Shannon and Anneroo’s idea is good. However, at this moment in time this blog is alive and kicking, so let’s try and keep GERRI’s blog going rather than providing reasons to close it.
Butch, thanks for your comment and I know I’m going to have a brilliant time in Dec/Jan. Also, yeah I need a layover in NYC, but I think I only get 1.5 hours this time and that will be spent in customs. I’ll be in touch though and NYC is definitely a place I will be visiting again I love that city.
Hi all!
Thanks for all of the well wishes for SP. Catscan showed no clots, so that is good. STill leaves her w/ bronchitis, but definitely the lesser of two evils! I appreciate your support!
Ally, -2C? You dive in that don’t you!?!?! HAHAHAHA. I’ll avoid the cold water dives, thank you very much! I’m thinking Puerto Rico, costa rica, or Hawaii!!!
Sigh, since I had to leave work early, that means I have to make up those three hours tonight! Lots to get done before leaving early tomorrow for the holiday!
Very wet here today, but it is better than snow/freezing cold! We were in the 40’s here most of the day, soggy as it was!
WWWendy, did you find non white trainers?! Did we make you mad?? I haven’t seen you around!
And what the heck happened to lotus?! Did the Navy’s don’t ask/don’t tell policy ask her?! hmmm, maybe she’ working on something top secret so they’ve got her locked away… Or even more juicy, maybe she and SHF finally got together and she has been too busy to grace us w/ her presence! I like that idea best!
Have a great evening/night ladies!
WWWendy, I totally agree w/ you re: focusing on this blog. Until it closes, this one should be where folks congregate. Sorry if it appeared that I was distracting from this one, it was totally not intended. I’ve modified that blog to redirect to here and it will remain as such until such a time that we are unable to congregate here.
Again, sorry if it seemed we were “deserting” Gerri - we truly aren’t!
Peg, where have you disappeared to! Did you go off to see little Hannah? Or are you out catching Thanksgiving dinner?! I’m off to finish and submit this work report! Have a fab-o Thanksgiving you Americanos (sorry, no Red Sox fan can refer to us as Yanks - its blasphemy!).
To the rest of you, have a mahvelous rest of the week!
norma, yes every monday night from 7to9pm. we work girl. clogging is hard work on you knees and body. great exercise.
ally , i think in the back hills of ky. we buck dance and clog. we have been clogging for 20 years. that is how i met pat. the rest is history
jt, now i am laughing. yes like last night i felt like crap after we got through. pat worked us to the bone. we are dancing to Bad by micheal jackson. a very long long song. a long hot shower with her last night and within 10 minutes we were in dream land. go on line and just look at some of the clogging videos on the web.
we also slow dance together all the time. she is so romantic.
well time for us to cuddle on the couch with our favorite blanket and watch dancing with the stars.
pat and dianne
i printed your pictures peg.great pictures!!!
hey anneroo.
Hiya Dianne! You recovered from your stompin’ yet?
Me, I am not cut out to be nurse Nancy! And I can’t imagine having kids! I am too damn lazy and selfish!
Off to read a little Kate before heading to bed! Got an early one (for me) tomorrow and I need my beauty sleep!
hey GGG’S
Anneroo good news re your SP thats great just need to give her some more of that tlc , my buddy went this sunday just gone and yes he said it was exceptionally cold but still to clarify exact degree off his computer, im off week on sunday all being well probably wales again think ill be double layered with the thermals underneath ha ha , shame i cant wear a wooly hat down there lol.
Diane thanks for that but now you have me wondering what the heck is buck dancing is? , sounds like fun though.
WWWendy good to see you back ,and im sorry but ive got to add my 2 penneth, i dont think anyone meant any disrespect to Gerri, infact just the opposite if anything because its been so successfull in its own way that “the family” as such want to carry it on . well thats my take on it anyway. that being another great thing about the blog we can all share how we feel.
ps , are you hiding Lotus ???? she is MIA!!
Norma you checked out the shed yet ??
JT i told my Pat i was cold last night whilst sat on the couch watching the box and do you know what she did , …..sent the dog over to keep me warm!!! not exactly what i had in mind , i dont know who was smiling the most Pat or the dog!!!
hi to all other GGG’S n Lurkers
MOrnin’ all! Off to start another long day - but that is fine since I get 4 days off! WHOO HOO!
Buck dancing? Only time I’ve heard of buck dancing is dancing buck nekkid YEEEE HAWW!
I wonder if Norma got lucky and had a snog in the shed after seeing how brilliant SP painted it! You can definitely tell the difference between admirable and functional shed! Mine is so cram packed w/ stuff the only time I even admire it is when I have managed to fit everything in it! And w/ the cold/moisture, the doors won’t even close all the way cuz they have swollen! HAHAHA, well, the mice seem to enjoy it in winter, cuz they get all of the old grass seed that sits in there… and I usually forget a roll of paper towels that has been “nested” by spring. My little contribution to the wildlife (I’m not as nurturing as Gerri!).
Ally, that is too funny about the “dog warmer”. Hope you got to cuddle later once the box was off!
Have a great morning/afternoon ladies!
oh! and Ally - I think it is cuz I have never actually dove w/ a dry suit, but I honestly can’t imagine diving where the ice can form! I remember one time diving w/ a wetsuit and forgot a hood and I felt like each hair was frozen and going to break off as I swam. PAINFUL!!!
Ally, if you re read my post, I said it wasn’t an attack on anyone, but my view. If we want Gerri to keep this blog going, considering how busy she is, then mentioning the new blog is giving ammunition to say, ok well they don’t need this blog anymore, so I’ll just go ahead and close it. Gerri is busy and yet she is still maintaining this blog. The fact she is doing this and a new blog is mentioned is to me disrespectful, even though I know that no one meant it that way. All I asked is that we keep that topic off blog until we know the situation.
Anneroo glad your SP is ok. As for me not being around, busy at the moment, lot of things to do and on my mind and yesterday, well I spent my time in the pub having cocktails and shooters from 4pm!
WOWZA Wendy! pub crawling from 4 pm to when?! What were you shooting? Ta-kill-ya? Boot-ka? Hope you aren’t draggin’ today cuz of it! I also hope you get thru the things on your plate and mind!
I say we focus the blog on Gerri’s book PARTNERS (the receipt of which I have fully put out of my mind since I’ll have to wait AT LEAST until after Thanksgiving) and on what Americanos are doing/eating for Thanksgiving… I’m curious what is people’s favorite dish? Me, I have to say butternut squash and stuffing/dressing are my favs! Is there anyone who foregos a traditional thanksgiving dinner and does something like prime rib or pizza or something like that?
Soon the advent will be upon us and we’ll be in full swing for Christmas (or whatever winter holiday you celebrate) - I’ve a short shopping timeline cuz I will be heading back home early this year - have i said how much I hate shopping?
OK, I officially have to work! Have a great day ladies!
Back from the maddening crowds…I needed to post a package the queue was out the door, so gave up on that one. I went to the bank to pay a bill, again the queue was…so gave up! I did manage to get a DVD box set present, some BLACK shoe/boots for going away.
Actually I left at 7.30pm, back home 9pm. I was good since I never know whether I’ll take ill when I have alcohol and I’m not as into it since the xmas party last year. But by 5.30pm I was tipsy, did I say it doesn’t take much to make me tipsy! They had an offer on if you bought 2 cocktails, so I did. I chose Jingle Bells…Absolut vodka mixed with an apple vodka, raspberry liquer, strawberry puree, apple and cranberry juice. Then i did later have a vodka shot. I am flagging though, but that’s more from 5 hours sleep!
hey WWWENDY ANNEROO
WWWendy wre you drinking with Lotus? ha ha
what was the occasion? and whichn pretty lady was in your company come on spill!!
Anneroo i only dived once without a hood in the UK well actually i forgot it and went back in with my dive master to do a quick task it was 17c but felt like 5 which is ridiculous seeing as the hoods arent waterproof anyway.
hood and wet suit , oh Anneroo i didnt know they did hoods for wet suits ha ha bless ya ive ust got to get you over here and in a dry suit !!
actually i met 2 brits whilst on hols and they were like na dont dive in the UK too cold , well im no hard nut its all in the undersuit and layers.
thanksgiving isnt it traditionaly Turkey for the carnivores? similar to christmas dinner ?
lol! No I wasn’t with Lotus. we had our staff conference so….since no xmas party this year we decided to have some drinks. My team was there, but there was this hot butchy blonde behind the bar! And unbeknown to me someone asked me something to which I replied, yeah the hot blonde behind the bar…only to find out she was behind me delivering the food!
ok WWWendy im putting this story together and im getting left at 7.30pm, back home 9pm
hot blonde that heard you call her such and only 5 hours sleep mmmmmmm????
lol! haha! It does look that way, but if you notice I posted on the blog at 12.30am! and I get up for work at 6.20am! So unfortunately not.
i think in that case you need to go back to the bar but pleased you had a good night, all them vodkas and you dont drink wow your poor head, i too have to be careful what i drink as in no spirits at all but i allow myself a wee dram at christmas and on my bday, otherwise its 1- 2 pints max when im out , any more than that and im in trouble ha ha
Well I only had 2 drinks and a shot and generally I avoid shots, they make me do things I wouldn’t normally! But yeah was a good night and we have 2 xmas lunches coming up and I need to have more mulled wine, although that’s not too strong.
1-2 pints of which beer Ally?
im a bitter gal, erm specled hen , pedigree, black sheep, tetley smooth anything on those lines is good to me whats your usual tipple?
There’s nothing bitter about you!
It used to be Stella, but last year I just had problems drinking it, so I switched to Corona while in the States. Althought generally I like cocktails and champagne!
ok times nearly up so bfore i read your response im gonna wish you a good day and evening , you never said are you watching im a celebrity with Martina?
Never watch celebrity. I justhate what they do with the creatures whether they are dead of alive it’s pretty sick!
Ok black out time catch you later
ohh WWWendy thankyou !!
when we went to the stats we drank a hjeck of a lot of budweiser it did go down quite well as i remember
see ya!

Good Evening Ladies.
I am on my way out but wanted to stop by first to say Hello and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Day. May all of you have many reasons to say thanks.
God Bless You
HI all!
Just a quickie before I head out to get the pre-thxgiving pizza! SP has decided she wants to cook, so we have traditional turkey (breast since its just the two of us) and fixins!
My early release from work resulted in me working extra hours - oh well! I’ve got 4 days off!
Have a fabulous holiday those who celebrate thanksgiving and to those who don’t, have a great rest of the week!!!
Hey wait! lotus made an appearance! They let you outta lockup Lotus? Good to see you!

Happy Thanksgiving and also a happy Thursday to all!
Remember that whenever Gerri is away on vacation it is ok to root against her Cowboys. Really.
Ally, I have not seen the shed yet but Vicki said she made a mess with the paint spray gun on the floor so I can just imagine what it looks like.
Anneroo, looks like you are making your own Thanksgiving dinner after all which means LEFTOVERS! Isn’t that the best part?
Dianne, Hope you, Pat, and the kids have a good day off since Pat will be very busy the day after.
Wendy, would you eat bread stuffing if it had chicken broth in it? By the way, I don’t see anything wrong with wearing white trainers/sneakers with black jeans so carry on.
Shyfox, I can see you alreay spoiling the little rower. Good for you! The first niece/nephew is always the most fun to spoil.
JT, so any more clues? Brothers? Pictures?
Lotuspeed, where have you been?
Baby Raye, no fighting? What’s up with that? What are you having for Thanksgiving dinner?
OK, now I want an update on what everyone has to eat today.
SS, when is the next date? Is there going to be a next date?
I did not get home until after 10pm and I had to make the stuffing because we need to put that 25 pound turkey in the oven by 5am. That’s what I get for scheduling dinner at noon.
Good night/morning GGG’s!
Hi All, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you celebrating it.
Norma, nope I wouldn’t eat bread stuffing if it was made with chicken broth. I love sage and onion stuffing though, ahhh PAXO! Actually xmas is going to be interesting…no Turkey for me this year.
And Thank you Norma, at least you and Peg understand these things nothing wrong with white trainers and black jeans. I even saw someone on the bus wearing that yesterday and Shyfox I never wear K Swiss.
Anneroo, track 5 is Cry Me a River. I listened to it on my iPod this morning. The show is completely acoustic. Was fantastic seeing her in that setting just her and Tom and we were 2nd row from the stage.
hey GGG’S

Hiya girls
Happy thanksgiving to the girls across the pond!!
Good evening all, and Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful today for all the friends I have made here on Gerri’s blog! Thank you Gerri for bringing us all together!
What a relaxing day! Paula, Andrew, and I had our dinner at 4 p.m. It is my favorite meal of the year to cook. Paula made the pies last evening. Paula is now asleep on the couch and Andrew is surfing the net. The kitchen is cleaned up and I don’t have to work this evening! Yeah! We’re going to play cards later on. Sunday we spent the day in Lexington with Katie, Jeremy, and new baby Ellis. It was wonderful!
I owe many emails here and may get them out this evening. I have to work tomorrow, but I bet it will not be busy at all. I’m sure the shelves will need to be stocked though as the overnight stockers aren’t working tonight.
I hope everyone had a nice relaxing day surrounded by those they love!!!!

wwwendy i only ever wear adidas because All Day I Dream About … yup!!!! bahahahaha
hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving!!!
gobble gobble!!
Happy Friday GGG’s!
Ally, playing solo I see. I still have not seen the inside of the shed but I heard that the floor is a mess. I also noticed last night that one of the doggies has a big smudge of paint inside its floppy ear. I can’t even imagine how that happened.
Here is a run down of what we had to eat yesterday for Thanksgiving at our house with Vicki’s family:
shrimp and cocktail sauce(didn’t try)
potato chips and dip(dip made by me)
green bean casserole(made by me)
scalloped potatoes
homemade mac & cheese
bread stuffing(made by me)
sweet Hawaiian rolls in a bread basket made out of bread (never any room on my plate for rolls)
3 bean casserole
turkey(made by Vicki and I)
gravy(made by me)
candied yams(saved them for Vicki)
apple pie(did not try)
cherry pie(did not try)
pumpkin pie(today’s snack)
homemade chocolate chip cookies
homemade pumpkin spice bread(today’s late night snack)
This is what we had at my brother’s house:
creamed corn
cornbread
rolls(no room on my plate)
homemade mac & cheese
mashed potatoes
gravy(stirred by me)
green bean casserole(made by me)
turkey
ham
walnut,ground turkey,carrot,sage,bread stuffing(made by my brother)
deviled eggs
candied yams
homemade whipped cream(my brother watches too much of the food channel)
sweet potato pie(did not try)
pumpkin pie
apple pie(did not try)
As you can see we had a ton of food. There were only 16 of us at our house and 12 at my brother’s house. I don’t foresee us eating out any time soon. I love Thanksgiving because it is all about family and friends.
1-1/2 hours before we were expecting guests we received a call from our best friends. They were on their way to one of their sister’s house for dinner and did not hit any traffic so could they come on by for a visit. When I asked them where they were I found out they were 2 blocks away! Good thing we had everything ready and we were also ready. It was a nice visit and I’m glad we were able to visit with them.
Today my brother is coming over and spending the night and I am making Maggies for him and Vicki. We should have plenty of snacks in the fridge.
What does everyone else have planned for the day or weekend?
hey NORMA sounds like one keck of a feast was this all in the 1 day wow ,
re the dogs ear its amazing where they pick paint up from ha ha maybe they were helping lol
sounds like Vicki needed a labourer lol
well i may need to use your shed as we have a growing crowd for Xmas and no venue , we had a family conflab last night whilst out for curry and went through our options, which are looking more like dinner at a resteraunt as my parents house is packed up for moving and doesnt look like theyll be in their new house by then woops
so next idea is daughters house with table running from lounge into dining room ha ha , wherever if not a resteraunt Pat will be cooking , shame we dont get the weather or could have it outside .
Hello GGG’s & Gerri
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day. I did. I went with my family to my sister in-law brother’s home. He has a beautiful house in the mountains and the temperature was in the 60s at noon (for us that is cold).
There was a lot of food, lechon (roasted pork), turkey, mashed fried green bananas, rice and beans cooked together, yams, different kinds of stuffing, salads, 3 kind of breads, cheese cake, flan (caramel custard), pumpkin pie, apple pie and a lot more of food, none of it I cooked, because as I have mentioned before, I do not cook.
I behave myself, so I ate turkey, salad and mashed yams (delicious) and a couple of glasses of wine.
There were a lot of people mainly from my sister in law family because my family is very small but in a way, they are like family since we know each other for more than 24 years now.
About 5 PM in left alone and went to a friend of mine house where they had another family gathering and had a great time, stayed there until late night and just had a glass of water. (good girl)
Norma, my friend is in Mayaguez (the other side of the Island) were she is going to spend a few days with her family. She is coming back next Wednesday and probably we will go out next weekend.
Dianne, I owe you an e-mail. Sorry, I have being lazy lately with so much going on.
Ana, smile.
Shyfor, Lotus, Anneroo, JT, Baby Raye, Emm, Wendy, Ally, Paula, Mo, HP, Peg, Shannon, Butch (hope I did not forget anyone) BIG HUG.
Happy Black Friday…I am at work now and it is CRAZY. I cannot believe how much people shop!!! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving…We deep fried turkey and everyone seemed to like it (except me, I am a vegetarian) but the green beans were spectacular. My whole family hasn’t been together since my Mom died a couple years ago, so it was nice having all us kids together. Although my one brother kept farting near me and I beat the crap out of him…he couldn’t feel it though, he was TOASTED…I was the designated driver, so I will be having a few tonight to make up for last night. Well, I am sure that there are a million other thigs I should be doing, but I don’t have the motivation since I am not even sure I am going to get paid on time…my last paycheck from here bounced!
damn norma, i through we had a lot of food. you had enough to feed all the ggg ladies. lets all go to norma’s house. if we had that much i would be 3 times bigger than i am now. norma, i’m laughing–potato chips and dip made by you. now i am a big apple pie fan but i hate pumkin pie. awful!!!!! i want your bread pudding recipe. that is pats favorite. pats mama makes it for her. we went over to my neices for dinner and for supper at pats mom and dad . i made 2 cheese cake pies and a watergate salad. noone would eat my turkey.
ss, you owe me a letter surenough. i look forward to it.
pat has had one more day.she had to be at work at 2am last night to get all the sales ready for the 6 am crazy women shoppers who will knock you down at the door. pat just goes in her office and closes the door. she hears all them screaming at the door. it drives her crazy every year. she is off tomorrow and we are going to sleep in late. put the phone off the hook and snooze away.
well we are ready to call it a night. hope all you ladies have a good weekend. i will email you norma.
oh norma , i will email you my cheese cake pie recipe. pat loves loves loves it . i make it just for her.
love ya’ll , dianne and pat
p.s. we love love love a late night snack but the kind we love has no calories!!! haha
and norma, there is always room on our plates hahahahah!!!!
ok i am really gone. bye!!
Shannon, sorry to hear about your job. Hopefully the economy will turn around soon. At least you had a good Thanksgiving. Did Lin go with you? How is your family with Lin?
Ally, yes, both feasts were all in one day believe it or not. I was so wiped out I slept for almost 10 hours last night. Sure enough Vicki wanted to go out for breakfast. I decided to make breakfast instead. 2 eggs sunny side up, whole wheat toast, turkey sausage (you can never have too much turkey at this time of year), and half of an avocado for Vicki. As for me, I had 2 eggs, turkey sausage, half of an avocado mixed with a diced tomato and thai chilis, and a flour tortilla. Taht held us for a while until my brother showed up at noon and off we went to Starbucks. I had their new espresso truffle which tasted like a hot chocolate. I will stick to my chai tea latte from now on.
SS, sounds like you had a good time with your extended familia. I would have liked to have tried the lechon and the flan. I love flan.
My brother informed us that my cousin and his wife invited themselves over to our house for drinks tonight so I will be mixing quite a few more drinks than I expected. I am a good bartender. We went to the store to get some chips and dip, more cocktail sauce for the shrimp, ice for the beer and sodas(for me), and heavy whipping cream for the whipped cream we are going to make to ave with our left over pie. It is 62 degrees right now and is going to get into the mid 40’s tonight so we are going to be able to turn on the fireplace for the first time since last winter. My brother will be spending the night so we may as well have a slumber party and have my cousin and his wife stay over as well. My cousin is six years younger than me and tells everyone that will listen that I am his favorite cousin. I guess he still remembers being a little kid and me picking him up and driving him to the pet store and buying him goldfish every once in a while.
Vicki and my brother just ran over to Radio Shack to buy a battery for his car’s remote control. My unmechanically inclined brother was going to have the dealer replace it for him but my tool belt wearing Victoria showed him how to take the remote apart and off they went to buy the replacement battery.
We saw a documentary this afternoon titled ‘for the BIBLE tells me so’. It is very good and I recommend it highly. It is about a few families, their gay children, and how what the bible says about homosexuality is misconstrued by some people.
Gotta go and get the blender out so I can start mixing up those Maggies. Please have a good and safe weekend.
Yeah…Lin comes to all of the family functions..my brothers and Dad accept her…they don’t necesarily agree with it, but they are very receptive to her. They know she takes good care of Ky and I. We all watched the uneventful football games and played pool…well gotta go..talk to you gals later…
